AGENDA:
- Chairman Michael Tennant greeted the guests.
- Linda Gorman led the guests in the Invocation.
- Michael Tennant led the guests in the Pledge of Allegiance.
- First ViceChair Carolyn McCorkle, introduced each speaker. The candidates for the CUSD School Board who were in attendance each had 5 minutes to speak and 5 minutes for questions. They were : Ryan Heap, Leanna DeKing, and Eloyce Gillespie.

- After these speakers there was a “Corporation Commission Forum”. There are 3 open seats and 4 candidates running for those seats. Each had 5 minutes to introduce themselves and then a few general questions were asked to them as a panel and they commented on them. Christy Kelly’s website is https://www.christykelly.org/. - The “keynote speaker” this evening was AZ State Senator Nancy Barto. She explained the “AZ Reproduction Access Act” petition which has been circulating. The goal of this petition is to get legislation passed that will allow unrestrained, unregulated abortions right up to the moment of birth. Here are 4 ways it is dangerous for women:
- It removes the requirement of a qualified medical professional to perform the abortion.
- -No exam is required before the abortion pills are prescribed.
- -Taxpayers will have to fund abortions because it will become a “fundamental right”.
- -Parents will not be consulted or informed to give their consent.

- The 50/50 Raffle had $65 in winnings this evening.
- The next SLRC meeting is April 10th in the Navajo Room at 6:30PM and the subject will be “Moving America Forward in 2024”.
